Pulpy Shilpy
… is a music producer from Pune, India. Currently detained in Goa due to the pandemic's nation-wide lockdown, she spends her time producing music.
Since the release of her debut EP Slough in 2019, she has been working on a synth-heavy retro disco-influenced project. She was invited by Goethe Institute, MusicBoard Berlin and WildCity to Berlin under the Border Movement Residency, where she also had the opportunity of participating in Pathwaves, a 3-day electronic music mentor program for woman at Red Bull Music Studios. She was also one of 14 participants in Goethe Institute's first South Asian Music Residency, held in Chennai in 2016. The same year, she took part in a traveling residency called Roadtrip Experience Project which took her to Sri Lanka for the first time.
Her collective Orbs Cure Labs hosted its debut event - a collaboration with G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture - in June 2019, and recently hosted its pilot rager Groove Pool in Pune – to push underground parties in the city.
OCL is currently looking to put together its debut compilation to launch itself as a label.
